Manage pages

Pages separate a file into focused work areas. Each page has its own canvas objects, connections, size, and background.

The representative video demonstrates this exact workflow: Use the Pages panel to add a second page to the file.

Before you start

• Open the Layers tab in the left panel. The Pages section appears above the layer list.
• Finish any text edit or canvas drag before switching pages.
• Remember that the Inspector shows page settings only when no layer is selected.

Create and switch pages

1. Choose Add page in the Pages header.
2. Select the new page row to make it active.
3. Add or paste the content that belongs on that page.

Select any page row to switch. Content from other pages remains saved but is not visible or selectable while a different page is active. This prevents selections and edits from crossing page boundaries.

Rename a page

1. On a desktop, double-click the page name. On a touch screen, choose the rename button beside the page.
2. Enter a clear name such as Checkout, Mobile states, or Archive.
3. Press Enter or leave the field to save it.

You can also clear the current selection and edit Page name in the Inspector. Press Escape while renaming in the Pages panel to keep the previous name.

Duplicate a page

1. Find the page you want to copy.
2. Choose Duplicate page on its row.
3. Editor v2 creates a copy and switches to it.
4. Rename the copy before making changes so it is easy to distinguish from the source.

Duplicating is useful before a large redesign because the original page remains available for comparison.

Resize a page and change its background

1. Switch to the page you want to change.
2. Click an empty part of the canvas or clear the object selection.
3. In the right-side Page section, enter positive values for W and H.
4. To change the page color, enter a six-digit hexadecimal color such as #F8FAFC in Page background.

These settings affect only the active page. Existing objects keep their document positions when the page size changes, so check the canvas after making a page smaller.

Delete a page safely

1. Confirm that you are deleting the intended page. Switching to it first makes this easier to verify.
2. Choose Delete page on its row.
3. If the deleted page was active, Editor v2 switches to a remaining page.

The delete button is disabled when only one page remains. A file always keeps at least one page.

Recover from a mistake

• Choose Undo immediately if you deleted or changed the wrong page.
• If a page appears empty, check which page row is active and use Zoom to fit to locate its content.
• If the Inspector shows layer controls instead of Page, clear the selection and try again.
• If a page name does not change, enter at least one non-space character.
• If a width, height, or background value is ignored, use a positive number for size and the #RRGGBB form for color.

Current limitations

• The Pages panel supports create, switch, duplicate, rename, and delete, but it does not currently provide page reordering.
• You cannot delete the last page in a file.
• Page size is entered as width and height; there is no page-preset picker in this panel.
• Objects cannot be selected across pages at the same time.
